Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust Corporate Supporters

Since 2013 The Factory Outlet Limited (Trading as Ahurei Gifts) have been a proud Corporate Supporter of the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT).

The decision to become a corporate support of this fantastic organisation was made after I (Adam director at Ahurei Gifts) was involved in an accident at Great Barrier island in the Hauraki Gulf and sustained a significant head injury after a fall down in to a creek and attempting to soften the fall with my head :)

After a brief period of being unconscious I came round and felt the large laceration across the top of my head and down to my skull, being on my own at the time the first through was, what have I done? and how do I get help?

Within a few minutes I'd managed to get myself out of the creek and made my way to a location where other people were gathered, in that short time I knew that I needed the help of the rescue helicopter and Just knowing that this was an option especially on such a secluded outer reach island was a great relive and comfort to me.

Within an hour the chopping was landing, in almost pitch black conditions and I was off to Auckland hospital where we landed within 25 minutes or so.

Scans revealed I had luckily not cracked my skull and several stitches later and good telling off for Sarah my partner I was good to go home.

In the past we had already been a private individual donator to the ARHT but we knew the costs involved in my rescue and wanted to pay this back and more over the coming years.
